Dear CCP we have now ended a more than 50 hours long siege of an POS and destroyed everything, since it would prove that the Control Tower was not conquerable at all? Please provide us with some kind of explanation if possible - because we are a lot of disappointed players. Were we just ignorant?

PS: We still love EVE Keep up the good work, may I be as bold to say, this is still the most bug free MMORPG ever to hit the web. |

We did it not for cash - but because we could. |

CCP says
Quote:
When the Control Arrays shield is damaged and it reaches 25% capacity, it enters an reinforced state, where most of its resource needed for its Infrastructure Arrays is diverted to shield generation and it consumes its reserve that fuels the reinforced state.
The time it takes for a Control Arrays to go through its reinforced state depends on how much reserves the owner has primed the Array with.
When the Control Array exits the reinforced state, the Starbase is vulnerable for damage since it can not enter reinforced until you can fill the reserves again. Restocking can not be done until the shield is back to 50% capacity.
The reinforced state also dictates when the final battle for the Starbase will occur, since both attacker and defender knows the time of the Control Array exiting the reinforced state. The defender still has the advantage since he can prime the reserves so that it occurs on his prime time.
When the shield of a structure is gone, it can take damage beyond its incapacitation point or destruction point. An incapacitated structure can be taken as loot or it can be usurped to conquer the territory.

Edited by: Nym Qyamara on 07/12/2004 01:23:14 A guess - based on the amount of ammo transports we used - I would say we spent something close to 30.000.000 ish blowing this thing.
or 0.28 ISK per Hit point I guess |

That would have been cool,
You had Indies flying in ammo for the siege?
Yes
Originally by: Red Six Out of curiousity, from the explosion picture it looks like an Apoc is being tossed about, did any of the attacking ships take damage in the explosion?
No |

Hmm its really hard to say - a some points when we were to most there were about 15 battleships - there we some battlecruisers and cruisers as well - and when most were sleeping I think there were around 5 or 8 battleships. |

Server has had a hard night due to lots of trafic, since we also share the domain with another online game, this has been fixed and the pictures are back online with extra bandwith.

I guess CCP figured they'd have it in the code by the time someone managed to eat through 30 million HP points
Thats my fears - I was under the impression that CCP had said that POS was inded for the taking of af stronger force if they wanted to use the time and ISK requried. Im gonna be really upset, if I hear in the future of ppl taking a POS with them home. |

Edited by: Nym Qyamara on 08/12/2004 00:58:32 Well its a combination of ppl being online and ofline - US and EU players. Profit or ISK for that matter was not really something we bothered to care about. But there were mostly a combination of Apocs and Ravens. So there were enough energy weapons.
Secondly - the attack was not really planed, and was a, Hey lets capture this POS. I belive that if the attack had been planed from the very start, there would have been Alot more fire power. |

We are having a POS well established with lots of Guns and no problem keeping it online, We got a few Ice miners out mining for a few hours and everything is running online and going smoth for a few days. Keeping a POS online is not that hard, really.

Hi Nym BTW
for all the ppl with smart ass remarks you are missing the bigger picture here
why cant the POS be conquered I though that was the idear behind them
I am also sad, why has this post been ignored by CCP or anyone else for that matter, that perhaps could explain why we can not capture these POS's. I too was under the impression that the were conquerable. Perhaps its a feature still to come, perhaps the programing is not done yet, all these are explanations that I would understand, but still nothing.
I guess there is nothing else to do than to wait and see what the future might bring.
